Who we are
Rucira Collections sells its own pieces and runs a marketplace for independent sellers. For the personal data described here, we are the data fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect, and why
Personal data we collect, by purpose Purpose We collect Why Account & sign-in Mobile number, name, email (optional), account type. To sign you in with a one-time code and keep your orders together. Orders Ship-to name, phone, email, address and PIN, delivery notes, gift note if you add one, what you bought, payment method and payment reference. To confirm, ship, invoice and support your order, and to refund it if needed. Saved addresses The delivery addresses you choose to save. To fill in checkout for you. Business buyers Business name and GSTIN. To issue GST invoices you can claim input tax credit on. Sellers & applicants Name, brand, phone, email, city and state, GSTIN. Once approved: legal name, PAN, bank account and KYC documents we ask for. To review applications, verify identity, meet tax rules and pay you. Bulk (B2B) quotes Name, company, phone, email, quantity and your note. To prepare and follow up on the quote you asked for. Contact messages Name, email, the topic you pick and your message, or your number and message if you write to us on WhatsApp. To reply to you. Newsletter Your email, only if you join. We never see or store card, UPI or netbanking details. Razorpay handles them. WhatsApp chats also pass through WhatsApp, under its own policy. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Legal basis
- Your consent, asked for at the point we collect the data, for the purpose shown there and in this notice.
- Legitimate uses the DPDP Act permits without separate consent, such as delivering an order you placed, or using details you gave us for the purpose you gave them.
- Legal duties, such as keeping GST invoices and tax records, and answering lawful requests from courts or authorities.
- Withdrawing consent stops future use. It does not undo what was done before, and we may still keep records the law requires.
Stored on your device
- Your sign-in session is kept in two essential cookies. Your bag, pieces saved while signed out and display preferences are kept in your browser’s local storage.
- Nothing is used for advertising or tracking.

How long we keep it
- Orders & invoices
- As long as Indian tax law requires. That is typically 8 years under GST and income-tax rules.
- Your account
- Until you delete it. We then erase it within 30 days, apart from records the law makes us keep.
- Seller records
- While you sell with us, then as tax law requires for invoices and payouts.
- Applications
- 12 months if not approved, then deleted.
- B2B quotes
- 12 months after last contact, unless it becomes an order.
- Messages
- 12 months after the conversation closes.
- Newsletter
- Until you unsubscribe.
- Sign-in codes
- Expire after 10 minutes; not kept.
Your rights
- Access: a summary of the data we hold, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with.
- Correction: have your details corrected, completed or updated.
- Erasure: have data deleted once it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Withdraw consent: as easily as you gave it.
- Nominate: name someone to exercise these rights if you die or cannot act.
- Grievance redressal: complain to our Grievance Officer and get a response.
- Complain to the Board: once you have used our grievance process, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Using your rights
- In your account profile: edit your details, Download my data, or Delete my account.
- Or write to the Grievance Officer at support@rucira.in for a nomination, a correction you cannot make yourself, or anything else.
- Before acting, we may confirm it is you, usually with a one-time code to your phone.
- There is no charge.
Children
- The service is for adults aged 18 and over.
- We do not knowingly collect children’s data. If we learn we have, we delete it.
Security & breaches
- Data travels encrypted (HTTPS), and only staff who need it can see it.
- Sellers see only the orders for their own pieces.
- Payment details never reach our servers.
- If a breach affects your data, we will tell you what happened, what it means and what we are doing. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board, as the Act requires.
Changes
- When this notice changes, the date at the top changes too.
- For significant changes we tell you by email, SMS or a notice on the site before they apply.
- If a change needs your fresh consent, we will ask for it.
